This sterling silver cuff ishandmade byHopi artist Chris Mansfield andfeatures a geometric, wave-likepattern. The silver overlay technique was first practiced by the Hopi, and is a process involving soldering two separate pieces of silver together; the top layer is a hand-cut design, and the bottom layer is a textured and oxidized piece that shows through to create a contrasting background for the pattern. Chris learned this technique from his father at a young age and is passionate about continuing the silversmithing tradition.
